Go Home Cable, You're Drunk!

I finally accepted the challenge to live life without cable.  While this seems easy for most, it was very difficult for me.  I love watching TV.  I just hate paying the $100 plus a month to do so.   I have been talking about cancelling cable for over a year, closer to two.  I just could not get myself to call up the cable company and cancel their service.  I mean what would I do, what would I stare at for hours on end.

So today the day came, enough is enough.  Time to nut up or shut up!  I called up and they were very polite and understanding.  They did try to keep me on by lowering my service to just local channels.  I had to stay strong, I was almost out. "No thank you, we want to give it a go with no TV."  I had her, I could already feel the weight off of my shoulders.  I thought it would be tougher to get out of the grasp of cable.  I tell my wife "honey we are free of cable".  Her response "ok but I have a rule, just because we have no cable doesn't mean you can play PS3 all the time."

She got me!

So here I am.  No cable, No PS3 (well I can't go without call of duty) so I decide to write a blog on what I will do with no cable.  I plan to get an antenna that I can get HDTV over the air.  Amazon has them for around $70.  Some are more others are less.

What to do with no cable?  That is the question of this blog.  Going forward I will write down activities I do and how I am doing without cable.
